Tate Modern & Borough Market

07.03.2018 -

My week is off to a great start! Sunday I was able to get my work done in time to go to Borough Market for some lunch -> There are some amazing veggie choices! The barekas were particularly good. After I walked to the Tate modern and stayed until closing time. There was so much to see, and I'm sure I didn't get to all of it. I'm generally drawn to paintings and painters (like Miro!), but there were a few sculptures that made me pause. Also, since Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water is so close to Pittsburgh, I loved getting to see blueprints and designs of his. I wasn't able to get to the Globe, which is right nearby, but I'm hoping to visit in the next few weeks!

Today my class took a street art + graffiti tour of the Brick Lane, Spitafield's area, and after I explored Spitafield's Market with some flatmates. There is some amazing Jewish History in the area, and a lot of the immigrant and cultural roots are still clear today. I have my internship in Shoreditch, and can't wait to explore the area more.

After my night class today I met May and Morgan at a pub near Westminster, and am so looking forward to having them here for the week! I have class and work during the day, but have made sure all my evenings are clear for them.

My internship starts tomorrow, wish me luck!

Best,

-Ruth xoxo
