Multimedia Scholarship
I had the honor to be awarded a scholarship through Klein GO (Temple University's study abroad program for the Lew Klein College of Media and Communications). Throughout the semester, I wrote ongoing blog posts on and instagrammed about my experience, focussing on London's venue for multicultural and international events, citizens, and families.
Spring(ing) Across the Pond for the Semester!
Goodbye my lovely Rebel Colonies! For the next four months I am heading across the Channel to Great Britain. I’m sure I will miss you, but I’m also sure that the next 32 weeks will only leaving me wanting more time with our cousins across the Pond.
Are certain experiences uniquely British? Though they maybe found elsewhere, are there activities that may only be truly done, and done well, in Britain? This is a question that for the next semester I will be conducting field research (read as: exploring the UK) to understand.
Traveling on Your Own: Tips and Tricks
Since I’m such an A-List celebrity, I’m sure you already know from following my Instagram (@roshlag) and KleinGO coverage (@KleinGO) and know that I just came back from a holiday trip to Edinburgh, Scotland. I’m joking, of course, I don’t have that much of an inflated image of my self (only slightly…)
It’s disorienting to think I only have a matter of weeks left in London. I’ve spent over three months here, learning the bus systems and and tube map, figuring out what I like to order at the pub and getting good enough at making tea that my British co-workers at my internship trust me to make them a cup of tea.
Final Thoughts On Our British Cousins
Its surreal for me to think that my Study Abroad Semester is at a close. I’m back in the States, back across the Pond, and back in Philadelphia. I had the amazing opportunity to live in London, travel around England, and explore the UK. Yet some of the things I found most fascinating were the everyday, small details that I continually discovered. If you have the chance to spend some time with our British cousins, look out for these differences and notables.
